EASTER IN  ALSACE

 PARKING

THANNENKIRCH

Unfortunately there is no designated parking area for cars. For that reason the vehicles need to be parked along the streets and roads marked on the parking map that can be found on the internet site.  The areas delimited by red markers indicate the parking designated for cars (VL). The areas delimited by yellow markers indicate the parking designated for camper cars (CC). We recommend that the camping cars should be left at their parking places in Thannenkirch and the passengers carpool with other runners.

Please respect these rules and keep in mind that YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for your parking and that this area gets particularly busy during the Easter weekend. The clubs which are planning to arrive by minivans (of more than nine seats) and buses should contact the organisers in advance, so that a parking place may be reserved for them.

There are many other parking places but these are private and will be used by the runners who are staying overnight in the village. These runners should not drive to the competition centre or to the start of Saturday and Monday. They should leave their cars parked in their overnight parking spot (similarly as the camper cars).

Please respect all indications of the organisers who are best informed about the local situation and are doing their best to assist you and to allow you to enjoy orienteering in this magnificent area.

Do not walk on the road between Thannenkirch and le Schaentzel on your way to the start or to the competition centre. It is obligatory to walk on the marked path on the west side of this road.

SAINT HIPPOLYTE

It will be easy to park the cars, the camper cars and the buses on the paved wineyard roads around the village (please see the map on the internet site). Parking in the village is only permitted for those staying there. The area on the west side of the “wine road” and in the direction of Haut-Koenigsbourg is the forbidden area and parking there is prohibited.

ZELLENBERG

Parking is authorised along the four indicated streets. The local firemen will guide you to the street where parking is available at the time of your arrival (considering that there are no fixed start times, cars will be coming and going at different times).
